I want to talk about a new group of alternative practitioners that the Universe has led me to and brag on Preston Family Chiropractic today. I got a free session from them somehow by signing up at some booth. I went, thinking I wouldn't really switch to them, but they do massage (deep medical massage like I like), acupuncture, and chiropractic adjustments (but no popping adjustments and they do pay attention to the upper cervical connection which I think is good) - all three in one convenient location.
They also file the insurance and I only have to pay the difference at the time of the appointment. Instead of me paying it all up front, like I have been doing for years for my massage, acupuncture, and chiro, and waiting for my reimbursement from insurance.
The one hour massage was first and it felt great! I chatted with the massage therapist and turns out her children get hyper from red food coloring, just like my son does. She also told me about a Krogers that has an organic section, that I didn't know about. I shopped there the next day and it was great. A little cheaper than Whole Foods and a good selection. The chiropractic adjustment was next and it felt good also. No popping or cracking, which I like.
Last was the acupuncture. The acupuncture diagnosis was fascinating. She explained how it was done by touching this instrument to different points on the body (she said very experienced Chinese practitioners can do this by just checking the pulse in those locations) and then the computer showed what organs were low on energy, over stimulated with energy, or just right. My kidneys were great, which is good considering that diabetes often affects them. The only one very low was my spleen and the spleen and pancreas are on the same meridian. I have heard from other practitioners that my spleen is affected, it is probably still fighting an Epstein-Barr virus. Then other organs are over stimulated and using too much energy that is needed elsewhere. They were supposed to give me a printout but they forgot, so I will get one next time.
The acupuncture itself was only 15 minutes or so (and I was skeptical about this because I am used to hour long sessions) but every spot she used (based on the diagnosis) really tingled or burned for a little bit showing that it was an important location. I had an hour long massage, acupuncture, and chiro for around 60 dollars. Then they recommended a package of 8 visits twice a week with a chiro each time and alternating a half hour massage with acupuncture each time. Paying up front for the package cost only $117 and I have scheduled all the appointments near my lunch hour or on Saturday. They believe my acupuncture diagnosis will improve a lot after these 8 sessions, so we will see. They are also going to give me a free nutritional analysis on my next visit.
So, my message today is to keep looking and be open to the possibilities that the universe sends you.
- A lot of drainage this morning. My nose was running big time right after I got up and I had to blow my nose a lot. Detox is awesome!
- 7:45 am - 109 - awesome morning blood sugar! But, I did get up at 5:40 and my bs felt a little low and then it went up to this level. So, it seems like the only way I can get a great reading a couple hours after being up is to start kind of low. ;-) But maybe that will change as my organs get rebalanced on their energy levels by my new practitioners and with the raw food diet, of course, also.
